Whenever I read,”A Friend in Need is a Friend Indeed,” I always remember Tanmoy. Though I never met him face to face, but I know if I can call anyone a real friend, its Tanmoy. But today I am not going to write about his friendship.
Almost two years ago, I asked Tanmoy to allow me to publish this post “The Urban Breed of Parasitic Ditchersâ€? at my blog. I secretly wished, “Please God, let the publishers discover him and that too soon.I simply fell in love with his blog and his way of writing. But later on he stopped writing regular posts. Well all good things come to an end, that’s what I thought. But I WAS WRONG. Today, I am holding the book, “Stories at the Coffee Tableâ€? and reading Tanmoy’s story starting at page no 33. Its a damn good story with unpredictable end.
I remember one dialogue from movie “Yes Boss, “Achchon ke saath achcha hi hota hai. I agree 100%.
Keep it up Tanmoy. I wish to read more of your work in future.
Thanks Alka for the generous words.
But hey come on we met in Max Healthcare Panchsheel…..hehe It is another thing perhaps you were surrounded by so many beautiful people ( Vasu) that you forgot my face. 🙂
I was moved by that guest post — and am leaving the comment here. I can just echo what you’ve said: such clarity of thought and powerful expression is rare to come by. You are lucky to have a friend as he. Yaay Bengalis!! 😀
BTW, what is the deal with you nowadays? Everything okay? Do keep posting regularly!

Hi Alka! I work for The Times of India, Lucknow Times and managed to trace a pic I had been hunting for on your blog. It’s a pic under the name of Smoking is Injurious to Health and I’ve come to know that it’s up in some IT firm in Mumbai (also thru your blog actually, thanks for that!) . I’m working on a story related to ban smoking in corporates and need to know which firm it is. Do you think you could help me with it? if yes, please mail me as soon as possible. thanks a ton!
Tanmoy, agree with you, not about beautiful part. But that was hardly a meeting. I was in so much pain and we barely talked.
Sudipta, you should read his stories too. As far as I’m concerned, I am very busy. Its as simple as that. 🙂
Prancer, thank you for visiting. How are you and your project? Hope all is well.
Maverick, he is an excellent writer. If possible read his stories too. You will enjoy them.
Tarun, Thank you. I have read your story and commented on it too.
AmitL, thank you. You haven’t told me about snaps on your blog.
Manish, I agree with you. Nice guys finish first.
Paavani, thank you. If you read his stories, you will agree with me. He is a damn good story teller.
Smita, I’ve written to you off line. Hope you might have found what you were looking for.
I am really touched by this attempt by my dear friend Alka who inspite of her good words for me, is herself a much more talented, nice and courageous lady. Perhaps that is why she can praise her friends with such genuineness and feel proud on their little success.
I am overwhelmed by the comments that are written here and though personally consider it to be a very small step towards what I want to achieve it feels encouraging.
It would be very nice if this book reaches at least some people NOT because I have written in it but because those who are in creative pursuits would agree how difficult it is to make your mark and how difficult it is to create a platform. Caferati is a huge forum now but it all started as a small concept. I wish this way Caferati can reach out to more people and the forum can continue good work that they are already doing.
If you personally meet the Caferati folks you all would agree that passion/ drive / focus has NOT really vanished from all quarters of the country’s youth. It still remains in some corners. We should find those corners and perhaps settle there at times.
Thanks to all of you and Alka yet again. !
Tanmoy, thank you so much. And keep up the good work. And get published more and more. 🙂
That’s perfect that we are able to receive the personal loans and this opens completely new opportunities.
Awesome Post. I add this Post to my bookmarks.
