Seth Godin’s post discusses about Marketing Morality . It looks like fresh air from Alps.
I remember the recent Pepsi and Cola controversy brewing in Indian Parliament. The minute it was reported that soft drinks contain dangerous levels of pesticides all kinds of cold drinks were withdrawn from the parliament.
The Ministry of Health and Family Welfare has found nothing wrong with the amount of pesticides in the colas. Then why, they are not allowing soft drinks to the premises of Parliament? They banned it instantly in both the houses of Parliament, when Centre for Science and Environment (CSE) report was made public.
Here no one is bothered about any type of issue. Minister keeps on issuing clean chit to multinationals, cola companies keep on selling drinks and ABOVE ALL, most of the public keep it guzzling down to be part of the hip hop crowd. Ethics anywhere? What that? Come on, don’t be judgmental. Accept me as I am. Who knows what’s right or wrong!!
hahahaha first one needs to understand what ethics mean to them…anything good for them is ethical…others r others…why bother?…thats how it is… 🙂 but then things will never be in the same shoddy place with ppl like u n Ritu ji around…keep hope…keep enlightening…u will see action in ur lifetime itself…
Yes and no both… the reason being that if you compare the amount of pesticides, etc in that ‘cocktail’ which some people are ready to take up arms against with the average pesticide content in a raw vegetable you buy, it is by far the safest you can have.
However, I agree with your statement that most people just keep guzzling it down to be a part of the ‘hip-hip’ crowd. The ban from the Parliaments was just perhaps the same way as Jyoti Basu’s son went to an English Medium school even as he abolished English being taught in Bengali medium schools till Class 6 🙂
Prancer, I often feel disgusted with this current Health Miniter. We never see any policy coming out of health ministry, but how he is sacking this person and reinstating his own a** lickers.
Hope you soon get time to write some posts.
Sudipta, a heard the same question about vegetables in a discussion program, where Sunita Narayan was present. She answered that at least vegetables have some nutritional contents, which cold drinks entirely lacks, pesticides or no pesticides.
