Anil The Yogi has tagged me again. I have to highlight eight things which I hate the most. But I will write nine. 🙂 Its one of the easiest things to do. There are so many things I hate. Here I go!
1. My father is a walking and talking encyclopedia and an embodiment of hard work. Be it history, politics, yoga, films, poetry, palmistry, astrology, science, maths, economics or finance he knows almost everything. The way he devoured three newspapers daily and reads any book in proximity, be it comics or literature, one just has to see it to believe it. I NOW know why I find most of the guys stupid and lacking in intelligence when I unknowingly compared them with my father. It makes me quite angry and sometimes I feel quite ashamed of myself that being his daughter I know so little. It really makes me hate myself sometimes.
PS- I have forgotten to add homeopathy and religion to my father’s knowledge bank. 🙂
2. I hate my lack of self control. Once I get angry only my near and dear ones can tell what happens.
3. I hate my lack of finesse and polish. When I don’t like a person, I ignore him or her manically. I don’t know how to be polite and hold a conversation with that person while inside I am seething with anger.
4. I hate my self supported notion that if you are not provoking a person he / she too will leave you in peace. And I constantly wonder why this person is being so vindictive and hateful when I have not done anything to ignite the fire?
5. I hate it when I witness men gossiping like women. I always think that men discuss politics, economics, religion and sports and women discuss husbands, boyfriends, make up, dresses, relatives and neighbours’ activities. But when I see otherwise I just become tongue tied in that gathering.
6. I hate my inability to confront those who create negative atmosphere. I should give them hell, but like a complete fool I retreat into a shell.
7. I want to spend rest of my life planting trees but I hate it that I haven’t even started yet.
8. I hate it when someone jumps the queue thinking himself/herself very smart and rest of us waiting patiently as buffoons.
9. My blood simply boils when so called literate people, instead of promoting regional harmony perpetuate discord. If literate persons will behave like this, what to say about illiterates? Here is a very fine example :- “Attention North Indians”
Now its your turn:
1. Tanmoy Chakrabarti : A wonderful blogger who is hibernating for a long time.
2. Mallik : Often says deep things simply.
3. Beautiful Life: Put anything beautifully, if it catches her fancy.
4. Ganga : I admire his consistency to blog.
5. Girl: A thoughtful teenager. 🙂
6. Hiren Shah: A wonderful blogger with
depth.
7. Married Single :He himself says
that he is Regularly irregular.
8. Sidharth: Last time you didn’t oblige. You
better watch out this time……..
9. Amrit : He has an opinion on everything
and anything. 🙂
Will do for sure this time….
And it should be easy.Just like you I probably will go in for more than 8 things.8 is way too less.80 sounds more like my number 🙂
After reading your list I will say title should be ‘Things I got angry with (or because of)’. Because I believe nobody can have more than one or two points to hate anything. Difference between hate and anger (angry) is same as difference between Love and like. It’s just my view. 🙂
hey. About anger, dint u watch mujhse shadi karoge movie? I want a new tee which reads “Statuatory Warning: Anger is injurious to health.” If i get one, and meet u, I would gift u one :p
About anger, I dont get that angry. When I get angry, its by default, that I get all the consequences running in my head if I happen to speak out something in anger that Im not supposed to. After all, I love my loved ones:D and its a habit ive got, to keep my cool, from my dad. 😀 About ur dad, wow, thats quite impressive! But yeah I can understand the dissapointment when u compare other guys to him …. it happens with me at times:D its sad sometimes how guys can act so foolish. and u r there to witness it, when u know wot a man with a better brain wud have done in his place..
Good to see the new look. Umm things I hate- They keep on changing so something like SuperHate Muqabla I must say. But then right now, I hate it that inspite of being so sleepy i am in office and I have to be here till 8 PM! I simply hate people who dont keep their time (late-Latif’s). I dont know i normally hate lot of people traits especially when I suffer because of them having those traits..I feel they are creating social disorders with those traits. 🙂
I feel so great about your father,Alka..
And we can have a chance to learn at least a little percent from our parents.
Long time back you posted about setting up of a farm house..Dat’s a beautiful idea..Don’t ignore it!!
Btw thank you somuch @consistency to blog..I’m honored..
Have a great week ahead
Whew…you’re quite a fiery one.:)Some of the points,I totally concur with…men gossiping like women..LOL…see that so many times..cannot help yawning if I’m standing around..I do confront people with negative influences, sometimes in a positive way, sometimes by creating havoc.Try this technique at ‘angry times: Stop reacting instantly..just take a deep breath/count to 10, then, later decide your reaction and then ACT..it’ll help…takes time, but,it works..avoids a lot of heartburn.’
I have done the honours. And I have tagged you back on a related post. Do check that out. Tricky tag.
Now I think I know why you didn’t reply to my last email!! 😉
if you haven’t found one like this, then why not get a plat tee & have your message put on it!! 😉
This reminds me of a column called “mujhe khed hai” in Sarita – that age old mag.. yeah sidey one, but I have read some issues :p 🙂
yeah, but the column name wasn’t “mujhe khed hai”, its “mujhe shikaayat hai”. 😉 and yeah, I’ve read a lot of issues of it, used to do it regularly till a few years back when it mom used to get it regularly. my fav in that were the “shriman shrimati” & “nanmun” comics & all the joke columns, especially “yeh bhi khoob rahi” & “baat aise bani”. 🙂
ohh No. Well, Will write. Through difficult. I don’t hate things genberally.
Generally*
Ditto what Amit said about Sarita.
Alka, This I forgot to mention earlier. When you go to meet your father, you can say you are going Library. 🙂 Don’t take otherwise I really admire the knowledge he has.
Among the things you have mentioned,Alka, I found one thing very interesting. You have mentioned you knowing little whereas your father is a walking encyclopaedia. It may interest you to know that successful people are normally those who apply whatever little they know very well rather than those with a phd degree unless it is backed up by solid practical intelligence.
There is a difference between being knowledgeable, being wise, being well informed and being intelligent. If you excel in the area of which you claim to know litte, there is nothing to feel low about in my view.
Interesting list.
I was just thinking,
It feels good to write about things you like.
It also feels good to write about things you hate. So that means it simply feels good to write about your likes and dislikes. That’s when bloggers come in to play.
Feeling good is all that matters.
“I want to spend rest of my life planting trees”. Lovely. Your love for nature earns my apprecation. We need more people like you.
Hey Alka, I posted the blog on same. See, How quick I did. 🙂
BTW I need you e-mail ID.
Who really cares about what your father knows? Sad name craver.
Sidharth, yes, it will be damn easy. 🙂
Tarun, I don’t know what to say. But I can always ask, “Now you will decide what I am feeling?
Girl, Its only our near and dear one with whom we can show our true feelings and true us. So if I am feeling angry, I don’t feel bad because they too know I don’t mean it. But you are right, anger is injurious to health.
Tanmoy, nahi nahi, mere comment box mei nahi, eak poori post likho!!! 🙂
Ganga, but you write so consistently, that why I visit consistently. 🙂
AmitL You are right. I will try this technique. And I really loved that pics at your blog.
Mallik, yes I read your post and the one also you have tagged me. I will definitely write about if.
Amit, I hope girl has read your message and mailing me a tee now. 🙂
Twilight Fairy, I too used to read that magazine, but later on I stopped. Now I read it only when something of Amrit’s get published. 🙂
Amit 🙂
Beautiful Life Yes, I had read everything. I think I should tag you often. 😉
Tarun, 🙂
Hiren, thank you so much for taking time out and explaining things to me. But what to say? My father knows his work inside out. Two years ago, he was in London, appearing in interview for work permit, and in the last the interviewer said,”Mr. Dwivedi you know more than me!” So he is an expert in his field. Thousands will vouch for this and they nick-named him computer!!
Vin, Its so good to see you back. I keep visiting your blog of and often. Now you seem to write regularly.
Atlantean, Thank you so much. But till date I have done nothing. 🙁
Shilp, because of people like you, I hate to write personal things at blog. Some people have never been taught any manners by “anyone”.
Have my list up on my blog! 🙂
btw,do you know anybody by the name srikrishna? Your sister’s husband’s brother? He had seen your comment on my blog and mentioned about you!
that was a very fine list. it was straight and clear dislikings written , most of which I agree to.
nice job of being tagged.
