Comments Being Deleted

My recent post “Prostitute and Pimp” and comments, including mine :-), are being deleted due to some database problem from the server host company. From now onwards I will be taking regular backups. If any of you want to post your comments again, you are welcome. I don’t have any problem due to disagreement. 🙂

  7. Hiren, since you are on WordPress.com, you won’t be able to take backups like this. WordPress.com hasn’t any backup feature yet, so all you can do in the meanwhile is save your RSS feeds, they’ll act as backups. I explained it more in a thread in WordPress.com forums.

  10. Alka, you had tagged me along with 3 others.. am writing my response in their comments section.. here’s my idea of the “perfect lover”

    1. He should be sensitive but not overly so. He should be sensitive to others’s feelings apart from his own. Someone who can fathom the effect of his doings on others. Apart from that being expressive and communicative go a long way. I dont like guys who clam up and can’t talk about their emotions or prefer ignoring issues staring at them in their face. He should never let me “sleep over a fight”.
    2. He should be a good human being, a decent guy who would not compromise on his principles. Needless to say he should have some principles to begin with. But having principles does not mean that one isn’t open to subscribing to other principles or options as well.
    3. He should understand that women are from Venus and men are from Mars. There are basic inherent differences in the way both minds work. Not everything can be measured on a guy’s scale. Women need more emotional bonding than men and perhaps a certain amount of “making up”. Pampering for no reason at all, or making her feel special for no reason, once in a while doesnt hurt either. (this gets extra brownie points as well). Controlling his irritation on anything/everything is a part of this game (he’s perfect isnt he?).
    4. He should have a great personality, sense of humor, congeniality, creative instinct et al. Should be able to command respect and give respect.
    5. He should have a sexy voice (half the battle is already won).
    6. He should be charming, caring, intimate, romantic, playful and flirtatious.
    7. He should obviously have a good body (we are talking about the *perfect* lover, arent we?). That implies strong arms to gather his woman into or a broad shoulder to rest her head on, when she is feeling blue.
    8. There should be sparking chemistry between my perfect lover and me. The tangible and intangible hints that one can send across without being vulgar, go a long way in getting all brownie points possible.

    Now if there exists any such thing as a “perfect lover”, please pinch yourself to make sure you arent hallucinating.

  14. amit, in WordPress 2.0 there is inbuilt plugin to take the on-demand backup of wordpress database.

    I knew about that before WP2 was released!! 😉 And its not an inbuilt plugin, its a plugin bundled with the WP package, infact its the same one which I recommended to Alka for her to keep backups!! 🙂

    But Tarun, if you meant that comment in response to my reply to Hiren’s question, then its no use, since he is not using a self hosted WordPress install like you, instead he is on the hosted one available at http://www.wordpress.com and in a discussion in the forums, Matt(the founder & lead developer) did say that a better solution might be made available for allowing backups of individual WP.com blogs but right now there’s no way, except the RSS way that I mentioned!! 🙂
