Yes, I smiled too. The reference to the song brought back all sorts of memories, and it so happens that I am fond of dogs too. But on sober reflection the smile faded: the child, alone, seems to be in a bad way indeed, with or without the dog. Neither you nor I would like to imagine our own children in that sort of situation… where was it happening?
Funny thing: it is with such nightmares in mind that I wrote a post on my own blog today.
Suvro, thanks for commenting. You are right about child’s condition. That’s why I admire him. Its very easy to do something charitable from the comforts of our homes but so difficult to keep this spirit of love alive surrounded by misery and devastation. I will read your post soon.
